InstantPrompter vs Teleprompter.com, what we checked
Teleprompter.com has the category name and publishes the roundups you find. Here is what we verified on 27 August 2026, and the longer list we did not.
Three things we can tell you, and a lot we cannot
We make InstantPrompter, and this is our page, so the disclosure goes at the top rather than in a footnote.
Our check of Teleprompter.com was structural. On 27
August 2026 we read their public pages, their blog and their robots.txt. We
did not create an account, install anything, or run a script through their
product. Three things came out of that, and they are all below with the page
they came from. Everything else on this page is either about our own tool or
about how to read the comparison pages you will find elsewhere, including this
one.
If you want a product review of Teleprompter.com, this is not it, and we would rather say so in the first paragraph than bury it under a table of ticks.
What we could verify
We read these off their live pages on 27 August 2026.

The third row is the most useful of the three. A company does not write a comparison page against a product nobody is evaluating. Speakflow puts Teleprompter.com next to BigVu, Teleprompter Pro and Vodium, which tells you which shelf it sits on.
What we did not check
- What it costs. We did not verify a price, a free tier, or what a free tier includes. Their site has that and we are not going to paraphrase it from memory.
- What it does. Apps, imports, recording, remotes, voice tracking: all unchecked.
- What it asks for. We do not know what you hand over before the tool moves.
- How fast either tool is. We have no load or responsiveness measurements for them or for us, and we are not going to imply we do.
That is a longer list than the one above it. We are leaving it that way. A comparison page whose gaps are printed is one you can reason about; a comparison page with no gaps is one somebody made up.
Why publish this page at all
Because the alternative is worse. Search for a comparison involving Teleprompter.com and what you will find is a page written by Teleprompter.com or a page written by one of its competitors. This one is written by a competitor too. The difference we are offering is that it says which parts we checked, on what day, and where we stopped.

Writing about your own category is normal, and several of those articles are useful. What the pattern costs you is the ordering: it is a marketing decision rather than a finding, and a list that never puts its publisher second is telling you about the publisher.
We do not publish a ranked roundup and we are not planning one. What we publish is three comparison pages, each dated, each disclosing that we are one of the parties, and each with a section saying what we failed to check. That is a weaker format than a confident top ten. It is also the only one we can defend.
Why the crawler line in that table matters
Teleprompter.com's robots.txt lets GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot in. So
does cueprompter.io's. That is a small technical detail with a practical
consequence: when you ask an assistant which free teleprompter to use, the
answer is assembled from pages whose publishers chose to be readable by it, and
vendor roundups are exactly the kind of page that gets read.
We mention it because it changes how much weight to put on an answer that arrives with no sources attached. Ask where the claim came from. If it came from a vendor's own list, that is worth knowing before you install anything.
What this one is
InstantPrompter is a teleprompter in a browser tab, and it stops there. The script scrolls past a fixed reading line near eye height so your eyes stay level with the lens, and the controls sit in a dock along the bottom of the stage so changing the speed does not mean looking away from the line.
There is nothing to install and no account. On load, a sample script is already in the box and Play already has focus, so Space starts it. Paste your own with Cmd+V, or Ctrl+V on Windows, without clicking into the box first, and Space still starts it. Nothing moves until you ask it to.
Your script stays in your browser, on the machine you typed it on. It is not uploaded, not synced across devices, and not attached to an account, because there is no account. The trade is honest in both directions: a script nobody has cleared can go in the box without leaving your machine, and a script written on your laptop will not be waiting on your phone.
What this tool does, including what it does not
InstantPrompter only. We did not test their product, so there is no Teleprompter.com column. A column filled in from someone else's marketing page is how most comparison tables end up being wrong.

The last three rows are the ones that separate a free page from a product with a company behind it, and they are the reason the next section exists.
Where a product with a company behind it wins
- Something breaks an hour before you record. A company selling software usually has somebody to escalate to. Here you have a contact form and whatever we manage that day. If the shoot cannot slip, that difference is the whole decision.
- You need it on a device a browser tab cannot reach. Native apps exist for reasons, and we do not have one.
- Somebody has to sign off on a vendor. Procurement wants a contract, a named company and a support commitment. A free page with no account gives them none of that.
- You work in a team. Shared scripts, seats, permissions: not here, and not planned.
We did not verify which of those Teleprompter.com actually offers. We are describing the category, and telling you which side of it we are on.
Where this one is the better answer
- Nothing between you and reading. Load the page, press Space, read.
- The script does not leave the machine. That is a property of where it is stored rather than a policy you have to trust.
- A speed number that survives a change of screen. Words per minute is a property of you; pixels per second is a property of a monitor. It also keeps the duration estimate honest, since the estimate and the scroll read from one number. The script timer runs the same arithmetic on a page of its own.
- Beam splitter work. Mirror mode flips the picture and the setup is written up on its own page.
- Voice follow with the audio path stated first. It stays off until you turn it on. Browsers that can transcribe on the device do it there; browsers that cannot, which today means Safari and iOS, pass the audio to the browser vendor under that vendor's terms. We do not receive, store, or forward it. See voice follow.
- Nothing to cancel. There is no account, so there is nothing to remember to turn off after the shoot.
How to decide
Ask one question first: does this shoot have a deadline that cannot move?
If it does, and if the prompter failing would cost you the day, pay for a product with support and use it. That is not us. If it does not, open the tool, paste your script, and read thirty seconds at your camera. You will know within a paragraph whether the speed setting means anything to you, and that is the part no comparison table can answer.
Questions
Is this page independent? No. We make one of the two tools, and the list of things we did not check is printed above rather than left out.
What does Teleprompter.com cost? We did not verify it, so there is no number here. Their site has one.
Is this tool free? Yes, and there is nothing to upgrade to.
Does my script get uploaded here? No. Your browser keeps it on your own machine.
Is there an app? No. It runs in a browser tab, including on a phone in landscape. The iPhone and iPad pages cover stands and system bars.
Who do I contact when something breaks? There is a contact form. There is no support commitment attached to it, and saying otherwise would be the kind of claim this page exists to avoid.
